The Department of Commerce, University School of Management Studies (USMS), Rayat Bahra University, organized its Freshers’ Meet, “Novato Fiesta 2026,” on 24 September 2026 to welcome new students into the university community. The event marked the beginning of their academic journey and provided an opportunity to build connections, express creativity, and become familiar with the vibrant campus environment.
Organized under the Kalasangam Club, the celebration brought together students and faculty members for an occasion centred on cultural expression, enthusiasm, and togetherness.
The celebration commenced with the auspicious Saraswati Vandana, followed by the Lamp Lighting Ceremony, symbolizing the pursuit of knowledge, wisdom, and new beginnings. These opening ceremonies set a meaningful tone for the festivities.
The cultural segment showcased the diverse talents and enthusiasm of students through a range of performances. Solo singing, dance performances, Bhangra, Giddha, and skits entertained the audience and brought energy to the celebration. Each performance contributed to the lively atmosphere and offered students a platform to express their creativity, confidence, and artistic abilities.
The event also provided an opportunity for freshers to interact with their peers and faculty members beyond the classroom. Through shared experiences and participation in the celebrations, students began forming friendships and connections that can contribute to a positive university experience.
