The Department of Management, University School of Management Studies (USMS), Rayat Bahra University, organized an educational industrial visit to The Times of India, Panchkula, Haryana for BBA students on 8th April, 2026.
As part of the Corporate Connect Club, the primary objective of the visit was to provide students with practical exposure to the functioning of themedia and publishing industry and to bridge the gap between theoretical learning and real-world business practices. The visit proved to be highly informative and insightful for all participating students.




Upon arrival, students were warmly welcomed by the organization's representatives and attended an informative orientation session by Mr. Vansh Rana (Engineer) and Mr. Sukhjinder Saini along with his fellow colleagues from the Production Department. Mr. Saini explained the basic structure and functioning of the newspaper printing press. The session also provided insights into the history, organizational structure, and operations of The Times of India Group, one of India's leading media houses.
Students were then taken on a guided tour of the printing press, where they closely observed various stages of newspaper production — including pre-press activities, platemaking, high-speed web offset printing, and post-press processes such as folding and bundling. The experience gave students a firsthand understanding of the scale, precision, and technology involved in daily newspaper production.
The visit also highlighted the roles of editorial management, advertising, marketing, and distribution in the overall business model of a leading media house. An interactive session with industry professionals allowed students to clarify their doubts and gain valuable career guidance in the media and communication sector.
